Gnomesy was born out of the belief that everyone deserves to be in a space they love, and that for most of us, that includes some green. Since many of us spend a lot of our time at work, why not bring nature inside with us?
I set out to build Gnomesy to help myself and others find a way to bring mental balance in a life that is a whirlwind of work, commute, email at home, chores and very little time in nature. I love my life, chaos and all, but also saw studies that show that we as humans need time in nature to reset our minds and relieve anxiety. As a leader, empowering employees with chronic anxiety was demanding more and more time.
With a little more research, I found that horticultural therapists have long used plant therapy with positive effects. Why not make nature available to those who just need to be able to pause for a brief, mindful moment anchored by nature at their desk or in their office? I believe that these pauses can be all that is needed to recharge and become reengaged in the task at hand.
I strongly believe that employee engagement impacts output significantly and that feeling ownership over a space plays a huge role in that feeling.

Using our Gnome Coach support system, we match the plant to the environment and provide automated instructions, support and team building to empower the employee community to own green space in their environment.
